Can I just say how underrated quiches are? So this is a quiche appreciation note from me!
Oh quiche! You satisfy no matter what! You have a crusty base made of the basic necessities in a good pastry - cold butter, cage-free yolk, flour, water, salt all mixed together into a beautiful dough.
Then this dough is rolled into a crust and bake till golden. But that’s just one part of the story, and for the sake of quiche, please bear with me.
There’s the custard–liquid gold featuring fresh eggs, dash of cream, and spices.
Here comes the fillings, that is another hour or two of prep time, be it slow-cooked caramelised onions, or roasted cherry tomatoes or sautéed wild mushrooms.
Cheese is another important component in a quiche and at All Things Delicious we use natural cheeses that give the best flavour!
You think that may be all, but we squeeze in more! Think baby spinach, chopped fresh herbs, etc, all depending on the quiche you choose.
So imagine all of these components–the custard, the fillings, the cheeses, the flavourings all going into one tiny quiche! Now that’s a BIG deal! Protein, fibre, carb, fat and flavour all rolled into one little quiche!
