Chocolate Rocher Voyage Cake
Inspired by those chocolate hazelnut treats we all know and love, but made the ATD way.
We use 100% cocoa powder for depth, layer it with hazelnut praline paste, cover it in dark chocolate and finish with a sprinkle of sea salt and a touch of gold leaf. It’s rich, nutty, slightly salty and very celebratory. Underneath it all, the cake is actually very lovely, it's rich but not overly so. Truth be told, it took us a few rounds to get this cake right as I didnt want it to be rich-rich like a devil's cake, and neither do I want it light as a sponge cake, AND I also didn't want it to be just a chocolate butter cake, it needs to hold on it's own and I am proud to say the team really nailed it! Try it!
Plus point: this cake makes a beautiful centrepiece when you want dessert to feel just a little bit glamorous.
