I took a chance on this interesting shepard’s pie and it did not disappoint! Was the only item to be completely finished. Great taste, the gochujang adds a depth to the beef and the hint of spice makes the meat & potatoes dish less heavy.
Last year 2023 we ordered the same dish for a cheaper price ($78.90 vs this year's $98) for a party and it was a showstopper! All our guests who tried it complimented it and asked us where it was from. Naturally we ordered again this year 2024 and accepted the price increase as a part of inflation.
Unfortunately, this year the shepherd's pie was a lot more 'meh'. Last year's was flavourful but not spicy (so all the children were happy to eat it without problem) whereas this year's one was too spicy yet not as tasty so most of the children rejected it. The sweet potato pie crust was also drier and harder (last year's was nice and moist).
I would say that this year's pie was decent... but I really wish that it had been the exact same quality as 2023... Bring back the old recipe!
